Little Camden came to the studio last week for his one year old pictures. This little guy was all smiles from the minute he came through the door- love that!!   And Camden’s mommy brought him the best surprise….a big chocolate cake- just for him!  At first he was being very neat and clean with the cake, but once he figured out that we actually WANTED him to dig in and get dirty- he had a blast!! Happy Birthday Camden- you are such a cutie!!

Seda and Raleigh joined their grandmother in the studio for some sweet pictures.  Seda was visiting from Colorado, so it was an extra special treat to have her in these images.

My friends Nancy and Mark brought their little ones, Drew and Sarah Margaret,  in last week for some family photos.  Nancy said she thought maybe it was time for an updated photo….since the portrait hanging over their fireplace doesn’t include little Sarah Margaret!…and she’s HOW old now?????     haha- sorry Nancy had to bring ya out on that one!   Drew was definitely cracking me up with his funny faces and Sarah Margaret really got a kick out of watching mom and dad as they tried to get her to smile.    We split the session between the studio and an outdoor location…which is the way to go in this crazy heat!!  I don’t know about you, but I am DONE with Summer…bring on some cool weather!

Lauren’s smile is ….infectious. That’s about the best way I can describe it. When you see her smile…you find yourself smiling right along with her!  I so wish I could show you some of her images, but I have to wait until after her October wedding- but trust me- you will find yourself smiling too…

I met Jamie and Brandon Thursday for their engagement session.  I graduated from high school with Brandon so it is kinda cool to get to work with him and Jamie and catch up on things after…..well after a FEWyears- haha!!  Gosh-  I just counted how many years we have been out of high school and that is very depressing!! yikes!   So anyway- we started shooting downtown and then drove out to the country and shot some around their home.  Their daughter, Lillie, go to join in some pictures with mom and dad too- what a sweetie!!  Oh- and Jamie- let me tell you again how much I am loving that yellow shirt!  You should wear it more often…since it is Brandon’s favorite- haha!! (little joke….)

Luke’s mommy brought him to the studio last week for his 12 month pictures- and what a cutie he was!!! He had the biggest, happiest smile I have ever seen!  So we played around in the studio with a few different props and backgrounds, and Luke’s mommy brought some bright colored balloons for him to play with too!   I love the image of him “chillin” on the balloons…of course those were after we taped them to the floor to stop them from flying around everywhere!  haha!

So, we moved over the weekend….well not totally.  We are still in the process of moving stuff still, every day, in this horrible heat- uuugh! But we are now living somewhere else, temporarily, while our house is being built.  I guess it won’t be so bad here….Sam has already picked out his favorite “sun” spot in front of the windows, we finally have a garage (for the jeep of course!) and a bigger closet that Gordon and I can actually share!!!   For the whole almost 8  years that we have been married, we have not been able to share a closet, because the other house had such tiny closets ( major down fall of the older homes).  My clothes and dressers were in our bedroom and Gordon’s clothes and dressers were in the spare bedroom.  So now we feel like we are just married all over again because we have to learn to share closet space and get ready in the same room now- hahaha!!  I must say, I was overjoyed to the point of tears Sunday night, when I finally got done organizing my half of the closet, and got to just stand there and admire it…….it was a beautiful sight.   Pants on bottom rack, shirts on top….all totally color categorized…..and MORE than enough room for ALL of my clothes…….aaagggghhhh.  It’s the little things….

Abby told me that I was going to think she was crazy when she told me where she wanted to shoot her engagement session - at Covenant Place.   Yes, it was a different request, but  a good one!!  We had so much fun wandering around the little courtyards- and they really are very pretty! 

 I  met Abby and Jason Tuesday morning at 7:30 for this shoot…yes you read that right- 7:30AM- But I am a morning person, so it was good.   And I have to say- it was worth it- the early morning light was absolutely gorgeous.  It’s just a totally different look and feel from the evening sun.  I loved how “misty” the sun looked filtering through the trees in the field.  

While editing these images, I kinda thought several times that Abby reminded me of a certain celebrity.  Now I am NOT one to watch all these stupid reality shows, in fact I hate them….but  I do  have to admit that I find myself watching the Kardashian’s quite frequently -yes I admit it!   Well, there were several images that Abby reminded me of Kourtney…..and Abby I hope you don’t hate the Kardashian’s…cause I totally meant that as a compliment!!

I really loved the images from this session- so of course I had a lot of favs. 

It seems like I was just photographing their wedding, and now Pamela and Mark are bringing their newest addition to the studio- Brighton! This little guy was so cute…however not very sleepy.  He was just too curious and wanted to see exactly what was going on- haha!!
