It’s finally here- my LAST day of working for someone else! I don’t think it has quite hit me yet…..what a big step this is, and how exciting it is going to be, and how good I HOPE it will be- haha! 

I cannot wait to wake up Monday morning and do only MY work, no one else’s  - just MINE!  Of course I have a lot of catching up to do, but at least I can catch up now- whew!  My first goal is to get all of my album and book designs DONE! Yep- sorry to everyone who has been waiting on their album designs….I just kinda had to put them on the “back burner” for a little while, so I could try to keep my head above water lately.  Thank you to everyone for their patience.  Hopefully I can now give everyone the attention and time they deserve from me- yay!!!! 

So I have no idea how my days will be now…. no one telling me what to do and when to do it.  Of course I am going to have  to make sure I still get up early and get DRESSED!  The one thing I don’t want to do is to be sitting at my computer at 3:00 in the afternoon…..still in my pj’s- hahaha!!!  

Well- 30 more minutes until I am self-employed!

Jessica and Mitch met me yesterday for some engagement photos….. in what we HOPE was the right back yard- haha! They were using some one else’s yard for the photos, but weren’t 100% sure we had the right house, and no one was home- so…..well we used their back yard.  So, if it wasn’t th right house- thank you to who ever owned the house for letting us yse your yard! haha!

Katie chose to do her Bridals at a gorgeous location in Greenville - The Cliffs!  Since she loves the mountains so much- this was the perfect place for her- there were mountains everywhere!  And amazing views! I must say, Katie is my absolutely my most beautiful bride yet - yes I may be a little biased since she is my little sister- haha!!  I cannot wait to show off her bridals, but I have to wait until after Oct. 24th - but I did some “creative” cropping on a few so I could post something for you to see! haha!

Virginia and Nate were married  on June 27th at Salem Black River Church.  I have shot many bridal portraits at this church, but this was my first wedding here, so I was very excited- and it was beautiful!!!  A little HOT, ok a LOT hot- but beautiful! 

I love Virginia, she is just the sweetest person ever!  Very classy and charming! I really enjoyed working with her over the past few months.  And even though I just met her new hubby the day of the wedding, I can tell they are a perfect match!   Congrats to you both!

I absolutely loved Virginia and Nate’s reception- very nice!  Huge white tent, amazing band, great dance floor and sitting areas (white couches with the cutest little colored pillows) and awesome bar set up! It was very impressive! And there were such great details everywhere for me to photograph- yay! I think my fav was the champagne glasses with raspberries in them- the way the light hit them was amazing!  Loved it.  And I know their guests loved it too- everyone was dancing and having the best time….to spite the hot, humid weather.   I also met the best wedding planner ever, Lindsay Powers of Social Graces Event Planning.  She was so sweet!  After chatting throughout the night, I felt like I had known her for years!

Oh , but there was one little thing that totally ruined my evening- I had a piece of equipment malfunction at a not-so-great time!!!  Yep- this was the first time EVER, and hopefully the LAST.  While the happy couple was leaving, amidst   beautiful rose petals being thrown , my stupid flash completely froze…just locked up!  I was mortified!  It was fine not even 30 seconds before!  So, as I frantically told Virginia I didn’t get the shot, lets re-do it, I have a backup flash….she just said it was ok and it didn’t matter.   And that is another reason why I Absolutely LOVE Virginia!!  She is the greatest…..and she didn’t even try to kill me for missing the shot!  Even though it still makes me SICK every time I think about it! uuugggh!  So the flash has been sent off for repair, and will hopefully behave from now on!   Sorry Virginia and Nate, but thank you so much for letting me photograph your big day!

These pictures are VERY special to me - because Katie is my little sister!  Katie now lives in Greenville, which is where she met Dave.   I am so happy for them, and he fits into the family so well already!  Dave proposed to Katie on the beach at Sullivan’s Island, after a full day of sight-seeing in Charleston - how romantic! Anyway- I went up to Greenville this weekend to visit and do their engagement and Bridal sessions.  Greenville has so many awesome places to shoot! The downtown area is amazing and I can’t wait to show her Bridals- wow!
