The new guestbook for 2011….
July 22, 2010When I heard the UPS guy at the door today, I knew IT was here…..my newest book sample. I tore into the box like it was Christmas (yes I actually do get excited this easily!). I am proud and excited to reveal the new upgraded guest book for my 2011 Wedding Collections…..the super cool, ultra chic GUEST BOOK- woohoo! I just love the new design and the elongated shape of this book! So cute and trendy looking! And unlike my current guest books, this new book will feature super rigid pages, much like the pages in my wedding albums, and a really cool watercolor textured paper. And the cover choices, oh the choices!! Let’s see there are so many to choose from, like suedes, linen fabrics in every color imaginable, shiny “mineral” fabrics, premium leathers, and some cool leathers like alligator print! Or you can do the photocover, like the sample pictured here, or a canvas photocover as well. The possibilities are endless! I hope my brides for next year will take advantage of all these options, and create some really cool looking books!
Without further delay………the NEW and improved 2011 guest book!
Sneak Peek: Kyndall + Douglas
July 16, 2010This wedding was special for me, because this bride is my cousin! I was so glad I got to work with Kyndall and Doug and shoot the wedding, and get to hang out with my family too! Kyndall and Doug were married at the Lexington Baptist Church, in Lexington, SC. This church was amazing and provided lots of great places to shoot, with amazing window light- it made me very happy : )
Kyndall’s bridesmaids were exceptionally sweet, and sassy! Every time I asked them to strike a pose, they were all over it. Loved the “attitude” girls! And, guys- you were great too with all of your “GQ-ness” faces!
After the ceremony and family formals, I headed outside with the wedding party for some fun shots. Thankfully, the clouds had rolled in by that time, so that kept the squinting to a minimum. And check out Kyndall and Doug’s ride from the church……a bright red Corvette….which looked amazing with Kyndall’s bright yellow bouquet! Loved it!
The reception was held at the Mitchell House, also in Lexington. This was my first time shooting at this venue and I loved it. The reception was held both indoors and out, with the DJ outside. There were food stations set up throughout the house and outdoors in the garden as well. Kyndall and Doug’s grand entrance to the reception was followed by the first dances, and then a special coreographed dance by Kyndall and all the bridesmaids to the Earth, Wind $ Fire song “Dancing in September”. I must say- it was the cutest thing!!
When it was time to leave, the guests rang little tiny bells to see the couple off……
Congratulations you two!! I know you are having a great time in Jamaica!!

July 8, 2010Sneak Peek: Tiffany + Jesse
June 25, 2010I had the pleasure of meeting Tiffany and Jesse for the first time……on their wedding day!! I am glad Tiffany already had her dress on when I got there so I didn’t have to ask “Which one is Tiffany”- haha!! In the few hours I worked with these two- I can tell you they are very much in love- and so sweet together! I felt like I had known them forever.
It was blazing hot last Saturday (yes I think I saw actual blazes) but the wedding party was so cooperative and braved the heat to give Tiffany and Jesse some unforgettable wedding images- thanks guys! I think that was the FASTEST I have ever photographed groups before the wedding- but it was so hot I was scared someone might pass out if we stayed out any longer- haha!
I only photographed the ceremony and a bride and groom mini session afterwards, but I did manage to sneak over to the reception site to check out the cake. I LOVED this cake- so pretty and just enough “bling”.
I hope that you two have had an amazing honeymoon in Cabo (wish I was there….sigh) and I know you will have an amazing marriage as well!!
Sneak Peek: Liza + Brad
June 18, 2010First of all, let me Thank Liza and Brad for getting married inside…..with air conditioning- haha! Wow was it HOT last Saturday!! They were married in the Bishopville Presbyterian Church, which is really nice- I love shooting in new places! Liza looked absolutely beautiful- as she always does. I think I can relate to Liza because sheand Brad have an English bull dog, Layla- that they love as much as I love my Sam. I was amazed to find out that they had to take Layla to Duke, for a pacemaker….I had no idea dogs could have pacemakers!!! Good to know, in case Sam ever has to have that done- haha! ok- back to the wedding……the wedding party was great when it came time to shoot some group shots after the wedding. Even though it was 150 degrees outside- they gladly smiled and posed and did all the crazy stuff I asked for- haha!
The reception was held right down the road at the Bishopville Opera House. Loved it because Brad and Liza walked down the road to their reception….with me tagging along behind, looking like the papparazzi! I loved the old Opera House building- old brick walls, great “mood” lighting- nice! We also got to shoot some out in front of the building, in the street- which I loved!!
Thanks so much Liza and Brad for being so “into” your wedding day pictures- I really enjoyed your ideas and your willingness to be photographed…all day long- haha! It has been a pleasure to work with you both and CONGRATULATIONS!
(above) This is my favorite shot of the day!

June 14, 2010Sneak Peek: Sarah + Drew
June 11, 2010Well, to spite the very rainy beginning to this wedding….everything turned out perfectly in the end! I was already brainstorming on the way out to Sans Souci, about how to shoot this wedding, in the rain, differently than I had the week before (because it rained then too!). I accepted the fact that I would have to find someone to hold my giant umbrella over my head, to protect my equipment while I shot in the rain. Luckily, I didn’t have to do that at all….
The rain stopped just in time for these two. Sarah and Drew chose to have a “first look” before their ceremony…which I must say is a photographers dream!! They are only my second couple to do that…but hopefully it will catch on??? (hint, hint). I absolutely LOVE the images that I get from “first looks”….they are calm, quiet, sweet and sincere…..and you don”t have 100 people staring at you while you are trying to be all lovey-dovey in front of the camera- haha! Drew was so cute when he saw Sarah. He just couldn’t stop saying how beautiful she was, or how much he liked her dress…it was so sweet. After their “first look”, I was able to quickly photograph the girls…not as long as I would have liked…but we didn’t really have a choice, since the clouds rolled back in and lightening began to pop everywhere!
The storm that came next was kinda scary…well to me anyway- haha! I was flying down to the pavilion to try and get all of my equipment in before the bottom dropped out, but I didn’t quite make it! Thank goodness for a huge umbrella to cover all those cameras! It rained. It thundered. It lightened. The wind blew some arrangements over. It was looking bad. But just as quickly as it had started, it was gone and the wedding day festivities were back on again. Sarah told me later, that she had already decided she was getting married outside, rain or not- she was just going to have to get wet! haha!!
By the time the ceremony took place, the sun was starting to peek through the clouds…it was absolutely gorgeous the way it lit Sarah up as she walked down the aisle. And even more gorgeous , after the ceremony, when I photographed Sarah and Drew in the fields. There was just enough sun to light up her veil, and a foggy mist settled in right behind them. I think those may have been some of my favorite shots from Sans Souci yet. I was actually kind of giddy inside when I saw how amazing everything looked…….yes I get “giddy” over awesome shots!
The reception was great! For their first song, Drew sang to Sarah…now how romantic is that?!?! The food was catered by Shannon Allen (yummy!) and music was provided by the Sundown Band, who were awesome! I loved the way they had the pavilion decorated- beautiful vines up to the ceiling, and greenery everywhere. it looked like a tropical paradise.
I hope you two are having a wonderful honeymoon!! I so enjoyed being a part of your day!!
Hair- Angela of N Salon and Spa
Makeup- Savanah of N Salon and Spa
Notice Sarah is checking out the weather radar on tv- haha!!
You two are working it big time in this one!
My favorite shot of the day! ….Sarah does this pose so well, I thought about having her teach a “how to” class ! haha!!!
Funny story about the cake that I have to share. Before it started raining, it was so hot and so humid, that Sarah and Drew’s cake slid apart…like literally slid off and hit the ground! So what started out as a multi-layer cake, was reduced to one layer…but with some re-icing and a few flowers- it was still beautiful!!!
